Our Lifespan Religious Enrichment (LRE) program includes a variety of experiences for adults in the ongoing quest of “growing a soul.” While our LRE Committee helps coordinate offerings, some Adult RE classes are sponsored by other church groups. A three session program offered by the Membership team to help those who are curious about Unitarian Universalism, and specifically our community, learn more about our church and our denomination. This class is also required for those on the path to membership. Contact us here.

Faith Formation

Mystic Grove CUUPS 

The Mystic Grove is 1U’s pagan study group and Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans chapter that offers adult enrichment opportunities that explore UU pagan and UU earth-centered topics of interest.

Mystic Grove CUUP’s purposes:

  • Provide a safe, welcoming place for UUs and Pagans to gather and participate.
  • Support UUs and Pagans in their spiritual growth and encourage personal responsibility through educational opportunities.
  • Provide Pagan and UU networking opportunities to help promote understanding between people with different belief systems.
  • Provide meaningful, engaging, and vibrant Pagan or Earth-centered worship.
  • Provide fellowship opportunities for people to socialize, laugh, and celebrate with our brand of UU Pagan flair!

Spiritual Practices

Tai Chi

Each Tuesday / Thursday / Saturday at 9:00am

We practice as a group on campus, following 1U pandemic guidelines.  Our beginner-level class incorporates Qi Gong (energy work) and simple Tai Chi forms to enhance body, mind, and spirit. For more information, contact us here.

Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00pm – Studio

Roots and Wings

Third Wednesdays at 5pm, 4th Tuesdays at 11am

Roots and Wings is a gathering of sacred beings with an interest in finding peace and comfort in walking with Death, be it the inevitable arrival of their own, or the journey they have taken/are taking with a loved one. We endeavor to transform our thoughts and fears about death and dying into a spiritual practice of reverence and grace. For more information, contact us here.

Covenant Groups

Small Group Ministry

Small groups of UUs meeting at different times and locations, including online. Using the guidance of the Soul Matter’s Curriculum, the goals of the groups are:

1. Deepen self-understanding and spirituality

2. Bring people into a respectful and trusting relationship with each other

3. Deepen relationships with our faith community

4. Engage in service to our congregation and the larger world

5. Encourage and support others in exploring and defining their own sense of ministry.

Common Read Book Group

First and Third Thursdays

1st and 3rd Thursday of every month – Online

Books are chosen by suggestion and consensus. Mostly non-fiction selections related to current events and concerns.  The 1 ½ hour online discussion is lightly facilitated to consider the impact of the message and how it intersects through the lens of our Unitarian Universalist values.

Dialogue Group

First Sundays of the Month. Inspired by David Bohm among others. This is a skills building practice for deeper listening and more open communication, embodying our values of Pluralism, Transformation and Justice among others. This program is appropriate for Adults and Emerging Adults.
