NOV. 7, 2026 | Beyond Drums: UCF Percussion Ensemble and Steel Band

The UCF Percussion Ensemble is one of the premier performing groups within the University of Central Florida’s School of Performing Arts. Featuring a diverse array of instruments from around the world, the ensemble performs music ranging from contemporary masterworks and audience favorites to newly commissioned compositions and world premieres. Whether performing powerful ensemble works, intricate chamber music, or captivating keyboard percussion pieces, the UCF Percussion Ensemble demonstrates that percussion is far more than drums; it is a vibrant and expressive art form capable of creating an entire world of sound.

DEC. 5, 2026 | Cool Yule: A Holiday Concert with the Montverde Academy Concert Choir

The Montverde Academy Vocal Music Conservatory invites you to celebrate the season with Cool Yule, a mix of beloved traditional holiday favorites and classic seasonal tunes reimagined with a jazz-inspired flair. Audience members will have the opportunity to join in the celebration during a special holiday sing-along, making this a truly interactive and memorable experience for all ages.

Following the performance, guests are invited to continue the festivities at the annual Holiday Dessert Reception, a cherished tradition that brings together performers, families, and friends in the spirit of the season.

JAN. 9, 2027 | Rhymes of Resistance: a Production of Poetry in Protest

Join us for an electrifying evening of spoken word and creative expression at our Poetry Jam, hosted by Lisza-Marie Mattes, Artist in Residence at the First Unitarian Church of Orlando. With her powerful voice and passion for community storytelling, Lisza-Marie invites poets, storytellers, and word-lovers to share their truth, rhythm, and fire in a welcoming, inclusive space. Come soak in the vibes at a night that celebrates the art of language and the power of voice.

FEB. 27. 2027 | Voices of Korea: Tradition & Beyond with Studio frische Klänge

This concert-lecture features two visiting artists from Studio frische Klänge: a piri (a traditional Korean double-reed wind instrument) performer and a gayageum (a traditional Korean zither) performer from South Korea. Accompanied by a lecture by SfK Artistic Director Su Lee, the program presents traditional Korean jeongak (court music), sanjo (a virtuosic Korean instrumental solo tradition), arrangements of Korean folk songs, and selected contemporary works, including Lee’s own composition. Together, these works offer a journey from tradition to the present through Korean music.

MAR. 20, 2027 | Tret Fure: in Concert

The Milk District Salon at 1U is honored to welcome Tret Fure, a pioneering singer-songwriter whose career has spanned more than fifty years of music, activism, and storytelling. From sharing stages with legendary performers to helping shape the women’s music movement, Fure has spent a lifetime creating songs that are heartfelt, thought-provoking, and unmistakably authentic. Her music explores love, identity, social justice, and the human experience with a rare combination of wisdom, wit, and emotional honesty.

APRIL 24, 2027 | Magic of Bronze: Spring Soirée

Magic of Bronze returns to 1U this spring for an exciting concert that showcases the artistry and versatility of one of Central Florida’s premier handbell ensembles. While many audience members know and love their holiday performances at this venue, this spring program offers something refreshingly different, featuring audience favorites, contemporary selections, and the premiere of new works celebrating the ensemble’s 30th anniversary. Whether you’re a longtime fan or experiencing Magic of Bronze for the first time, you’ll discover that handbells can be powerful, expressive, and unexpectedly fun.
