UU Justice Florida

Unitarian Universalist Justice Florida (UUJF) is a statewide justice ministry for members of the 45 Unitarian Universalist congregations in Florida and their social justice committees, in partnership with other interfaith and public interest organizations, to promote justice, equity and compassion in public policy. 1U makes an annual contribution to UUJF.
Their Mission of UUJF is to promote justice, equity and compassion in public policy, guided by our faith tradition and working with public interest groups and interfaith partners who work for the common good.
The work of UU Justice Florida, a 501(c)(3), encourages discussion of current issues and it works with other concerned organizations. UUJF knows that building relationships can be a significant path to better outcomes.

Most recent statewide Justice Initiatives supported by UU Justice Florida
Supported the Right to Clean Water Florida constitutional amendment for 2024 which failed to collect sufficient signatures, but hope to start again for a 2028 ballot place.
Supported the Floridians Protecting Freedom ballot initiative (VOTE YES ON 4) which collected more than 100,000 signatures and was included on the 2024 November ballot. The Amendment was approved by 58 percent of the vote so it did not pass into law (60 percent was needed).
Supported the Expand Medicaid in Florida ballot initiative until the campaign felt so restricted by new state requirements (passed by the legislature) about the collection of signatures and the submission to the state, that the initiative was stopped. They and others have sued in court about the restrictions.
