Connections Overview
In addition to worship, music, learning, and justice you will find there are many additional programs, groups, and activities at our church! This is a thriving congregation that is sure to have something for everyone.
Our Congregational Life Ministry encourages and supports connections by serving visitors to 1U, providing information to those interested in the path to membership, supporting our fellowship groups, and assisting our new and existing members and friends to make more connections within our Beloved Community.
The Connections Team includes a Welcome Team that greets new visitors every Sunday, and answers their questions. Among other things, the Connections Team then
- Offers classes for prospective members and plans the celebration when they join.
- Helps both visitors and new members find connections in the congregation.
Fellowship Groups offer our visitors, members and friends a variety of opportunities to make connections and get to know each other. Here are some of our groups that gather for activities and fellowship:
- Alliance
- Community Garden
- First Sunday Fellowship
- Flower Garden
- Parent Fellowship Group
- RUUM (Retired UU Men)
- WUURL (Women UUs Relishing Life)
- Young Adults
Our Care Team is a group of volunteers who offer various types of logistical and emotional support to our members.
Our Caregiver Support Group welcomes caregivers who are feeling the need for connectedness and support.
When ready, you might also take the next step and move from being a church friend to becoming a church member.
We encourage you to participate in church life and start making connections!
