Buildings and Grounds Team

From 2017 to 2020 we completed an extensive renovation of all our buildings and campus landscaping, which cost over $2 million.  The Buildings and Grounds [B&G] Team (formerly the Long Term Maintenance and Enhancement or LTME team) is a group of church members and friends working together to make certain our space is clean, safe, comfortable, easily accessible, and environmentally friendly. Our goal is ensure our buildings and campus remain attractive and well-maintained over the long term.

What We Do

    1. We inspect our facilities and the campus quarterly to complete a report, with follow-up as needed. The focus of the inspections includes compliance with our Campus Safety Plan, long-term building maintenance needs, grounds upkeep and enhancements, and necessary repairs and capital improvements. 
    2. We meet quarterly to evaluate the inspection reports, determine what additional work is needed, and plan appropriate tasks for volunteers.
    3. We work with the Church Administrator to determine whether required maintenance or improvements should be accomplished by the Sexton, independent contractors, or volunteers working as individuals or in work parties.
    4. We have developed a landscape plan for the campus, and we coordinate maintenance and improvements for our grounds.
  • As requested, we also work with other church groups, collaborating to implement maintenance or building/installing fixtures or features to improve the campus.
  • We evaluate proposed capital expenditures for our facilities and our campus.
  • We coordinate with the Finance Committee to establish values for our buildings and what reserves will be necessary to fund replacement of  major assets.

  1. If you have a desire that the 1U campus always be at its best, you are invited to join us. We each bring unique skills to the table. Many of us enjoy working with tools. 
  2. All church members and friends are welcome to join the periodic volunteer workdays to help maintain and spruce up the campus.
