Our Hearts and Hands 2023 Auction was held on February 4, 2023! Click here for more information about it. 

We have had large fundraising auctions at our church for many years. In the distant past it was called the Moola Gala; more recently it’s been called the Hearts and Hands Auction. We hire a professional auctioneer, and we have an extensive silent auction that runs during the event. At each of our 2019 and 2020 auctions, we raised over $20,000 for our church. Our 2023 auction raised $25,700!!

It takes a lot of people to do the work needed to make this fundraiser so successful. Many donate items of value or services they’ll perform for the buyers. A large group of volunteers works very hard checking in items and setting up the tables on the day before the event and others work 2-hour shifts the day of the event, manning the bar, checking people in and out, setting out food, entertaining those who attend, cleaning up afterwards, and other such important jobs. Most importantly, there are the members, friends, and guests who purchase the goods and services the night of the auction.

Finally, there is the core group we call the Auction Team who start the planning and call for donated items and services many months in advance of  the event. We start meeting somewhere between six and nine months before the auction date with monthly meetings. As the event draws near, we meet weekly.
