A new summer online class sponsored by Leadership Development!

Description

The first in our suite of Leadership Development trainings, Centered Leadership Part 1: Tending Beloved Community is designed for people considering leadership, who are beginning to lead or who have leadership experience in contexts other than Unitarian Universalist faith communities.

We will cover:

  • how covenant is the center of UU faith
  • how our congregational polity works
  • how we can create strong, healthy communities
  • a deeper understanding of being a committed member of our congregations and the wider UUA
  • how being a member of a congregation is a “lab” for building Beloved Community

Training materials are divided into modules, available “on demand” as pre-recorded presentations with additional reading materials, discussion questions and other resources. The materials in each module take 60-90 minutes to complete. Additional time for discussion questions and activities can be managed by your learning team.

How it Works

When we have at least 10 students registered, LDC will create the classroom at UU Institute and send you your class login.  You can take the modules at your own pace from home any time.  We gather on Zoom for “study group” to discuss each module one at a time.  You can come even if you didn’t finish the module for that session yet.  In a shared leadership model, the students will have the chance to sign up to guide the group through the end of module discussion questions.  You can come to all study group sessions or just the topics you like best.

We hope to start Sept 2024 for 8 modules every other Sunday at 7 PM EST. Detailed schedule coming soon!
