Our Lifespan Religious Enrichment (LRE) Committee helps the Director of Lifespan Religious Enrichment (DLRE) oversee education through the lifespan – from infant to adult.

What We Do

The LRE Committee:

  • Coordinates programs across the lifespan from child to adult
  • Supports the Director of Religious Enrichment by sharing administrative and logistical functions (e.g., DLRE day off, substitute teach, clerical)
  • Helps our DLRE oversee and organize these regular and special items over the church year:
    • Curricula, schedules, and class/age divisions
    • Registration information and attendance records
    • RE teacher, youth advisor, and facilitator training
    • Children’s worship services (e.g., Holiday Pageant, Annual End-of-Year Recognition Service)
    • Church-wide family friendly socials (e.g., Halloween Party, Easter Egg Hunt)
  • Helps DLRE promote our programs and events and network with other committees on joint projects and with the larger congregation
  • Helps oversee the Childcare During Worship Program
  • Helps keep a close eye on Children’s RE programming to ensure the safety and well being of all
  • Helps oversee the Youth Groups Program
  • Helps oversee Young Adult Programs
  • Helps oversee and coordinate across Adult programs sponsored by other church groups

Important Notes

  • All volunteer or compensated workers such as teachers, youth advisors, childcare coordinators, committee members, etc., shall abide by the Lifespan Religious Enrichment Policies and Procedures.
  • Summer activities are oriented toward teacher recruitment, teacher training, youth advisor training, and curriculum preparations prior to the beginning of the program.
  • The children’s RE programming typically begins with the Water Communion Service and ends in May with the Annual Children’s Service.
  • Where possible, the church school year corresponds with Orange County Schools’ year.
  • Parents may attend Young Adult and Adult opportunities, volunteer on campus, or relax in Gore Hall or the Assembly Room.
  • Parents MAY NOT leave campus while their children are attending class. Should an emergency occur, we need to be able to find you.

Meetings

All parents and friends are included in our Lifespan Religious Enrichment Ministry. All are welcome to attend RE Committee meetings and share their talents. We meet over Google Meet.
