The First Unitarian Church of Orlando is hosting the 6th Annual Florida District UU Choral Festival on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 25–26, 2012. The festival will feature a choir of 100 singers (honoring our 100th anniversary) performing four musical pieces at each of our worship services. Two of the pieces are original music written specifically for this Choral Festival (one of them by our own Jamie Sterrett).

Choral Festival Update - Dec 2011 The First Unitarian Church of Orlando is hosting the 6th Annual Florida District UU Choral Festival on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 25-26, 2012. This is a MEGA CHOIR Call for performing Christmas Eve. You are invited to participate! No experience necessary.
We have professional accompanyment and will have Mp3s and CDs of parts for the two wonderful Classical pieces we are doing. They are Randall Thompson's "Alleluia" and Felix Mendelssohn's "There Shall a Star from Jacob".
We will also be performing some very lovely Christmas Carols from around the world and other special musical moments.
The two November rehearsals will be dedicated to building the notes, textures and sound. Those of you who are readers may join us after Thanksgiving. This Mega Choir experience is for ALL of you.
- Wednesday, November 10 @ 7pm in the Choir Room
- Wednesday, November 17 @ 7pm in the Choir Room
- Wednesday, November 24 NOT Rehearsing... enjoy Thanksgiving!
- Thursday, December 2 with professional accompaniment in the sanctuary at 7pm
- Thursday, December 9 with professional accompaniment in the sanctuary at 7pm
- Thursday, December 16 with professional accompaniment in the sanctuary at 7pm
- Wednesday, December 22 with professional accompaniment in the sanctuary at 7pm
Christmas Eve is a Friday this year. We're switching days to accomodate our accompaniment. The Mega Choir will be performing Christmas Eve at the 730 pm service and the date is Dec 24, 2010.
