Worship Services for June 2013

Worship Services

11:00am - Sundays in Our Sanctuary

Sunday, June 2 | Vibrant, Inspirational, Transformative, and Committed, Rev. Kathy Schmitz

As 1U wraps up the first program year of its second century of service to Central Florida, let's imagine together what is yet possible!

Sunday, June 9 | Intergenerational Flower Communion, Rev. Kathy Schmitz

Everyone is invited to bring a flower from garden, shop, or meadow, to create a bountiful and beautiful bouquet at the front of sanctuary. The diversity of flowers represents the many unique gifts we bring to our community. Each person will leave with a flower different from the one they brought as a symbol of the many gifts we receive.

The morning will include a Child Dedication Ceremony. Please let Rev. Kathy know if you would like your child to be included.

The choir will perform.

Sunday, June 16 | God Laughs, Christine Haskins

An exploration of the value of humor in our spiritual lives.

Sunday, June 23 | Summer Solstice, Mystic Grove

Join our Pagan group, Mystic Grove, as they celebrate the beginning of a new season and the longest day of the year.

Sunday, June 30 | What's Up, UU?, Rev. Kathy Schmitz

Rev. Kathy will have just returned from the General Assembly, the annual gathering of Unitarian Universalists, this year in Louisville, KY. Today's worship will be inspired by her time spent gathering with thousands of UU from around the country and around the world.

Sunday, May 5 | 9:30am & 11:00am | A Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood, Rev. Kathy Schmitz

This morning we wrap up our monthly series on neighbors with a little inspiration from a local purveyor of simple truths.

The choir will perform.

Sunday, May 12 | 9:30am & 11:00am | Fork in the Road, Dave Shine, Worship Associate

Sometimes our choices are simple. But sometimes we need to make a decision where, once we start down a path, there is no turning back.

Sunday, May 19 | 11:00am Only | Children's Religious Education Sunday

This morning, the children and adults in the Children's Religious Education Program lead our worship and they conclude the program year.

Our Share the Plate partner this morning is the New Image Youth Center in Parramore.

NOTE: We move to our summer schedule this morning with a single service at 11:00 am. The children will be rehearsing in the Sanctuary prior to the service.

Sunday, May 26 | 11:00am Only | American Civil Religion, Rev. Kathy Schmitz

If there exists an "America Civil Religion," then Memorial Day is surely one of its holidays. Is there "something" uniquely American that transcends the diversity of our pluralistic nation?

The choir will perform.
