Endowment Board The Endowment is a slightly separate organization and financial account from our regular church budget. In 1968, it was launched by members of First Unitarian Church of Orlando (1U) with the purpose of continuous annual income (pledge to the church) from donations or bequests received after the members had died. Thanks to careful investing and many more gifts and bequests, the Endowment Fund has grown to include $633k invested in our KeyBank account, plus a $59k note from a loan that helped to build our Sanctuary. DONATIONS While most of our donations come from people’s wills, we do accept “living” donations as well! A gift to the endowment becomes a perpetual pledge to 1U. The Endowment makes a yearly pledge to 1U (between 4-6% of its total value) and the Church decides how to spend it. Therefore, a one-time donation of $20,000 becomes a pledge of approximately $1000 per year forever. The Endowment Board is composed of six 1U members who oversee the Endowment Fund and ensure its well-being. The members—who each serve a minimum of three years—are selected by the Minister, Board President and Finance Chair. Your 2012-2013 Members are:
