Orientation and Membership Workshops

Every Sunday members of the Membership Committee are on hand to greet you and welcome you to First Unitarian before the service and afterwards at Social Hour. You can look for the "Visitor Welcome Table" to ask questions and get more general info about us.

If you feel like First Unitarian may be the right fit for you, the Membership Committee also sponsors two special workshops.

Are you a guest who is still learning? One Sunday a month committee members assist the Minister to present an hour-long Orientation after the service. This one time workshop is for guests who want to learn a bit more about our Church in a deeper way. The date of the next Orientation can be found below.

Are you taking the leap? Each quarter committee members facilitate a New Member series called "The Journey to Membership." It consists of a weekend workshop, a New Member Potluck, a New Member Reception and Ceremony. This series of events is for those who have been visiting us for a while and are ready to become full church members! Next session is March 15 & 16 - "Spring Journey to Membership Workshop." Fall New Member Workshop

Are you interested in becoming a member of 1U? If so, we encourage you to attend worship services for a while and come to a Newcomer Orientation. We also invite you to attend any program or activity that interests you.

When you feel ready to deepen your commitment to Unitarian Universalism and the 1U church community, we invite you to register for a two-session Journey to Membership Workshop. In the workshop, Rev. Kathy will tell participants about the history, philosophy, and practices of Unitarian Universalism, and church leaders will share information about our congregation.
