Congratulations and Thank You!! A hearty congratulations and a heartfelt "Thank You" are both extended to Amy Fairweather, Bev Alig, Geoffrey Stewart, Sandi Gross, and their team of approximately 60 volunteers who wrestled our District Assembly last weekend into a model of how to put one on. The arrangements were gentle and civilized, the food was great, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the volunteers noted by many and commented on greatly. We so appreciate the hard work, the time, and the continuous efforts over a long period of time. And, guess what?! We learned and deepened our faith during that weekend ... because the distractions were so few and the workshops and speakers so profitable. We were able to concentrate on the message of Unitarian Universalism. |

I am most often in the office during the day on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. I frequently have appointments scheduled either in the office or off-campus, so it is an excellent idea to call or email before making a special trip to see me. With advanced notice, I am happy to schedule appointments that fit your schedule, for example in the early evening. Wednesday is now my writing day. Thursday is my day off. On Thursdays, I only respond to emergencies |

Two Child Dedication Ceremonies have been scheduled. The first will take place on Mother's Day, May 8th. The second will take place on Father's Day, June 19th, which will also be our intergenerational Flower Communion. During a Child Dedication Ceremony, each child is recognized and welcomed into the community. Parents, family, and friends, as well as the children and adults of the congregation, dedicate themselves to spiritually nurturing each child. This brief ceremony typically takes place near the beginning of the service. Parents interested in having their child included in one of these ceremonies are asked to be in touch with Rev. Kathy at

SUUSI Musicians, Pat Wictor, Greg Greenway, and Joe Jencks have formed a dynamic new male trio. (You may remember the Joe Jencks songs performed recently at 1U: "Come With Me" at the April 1, 2011 SUUSI service, and "Do it For the Singing" at the All Music Service.) Their harmonies, as much as their lyrics, tell what they are about: warm as a campfire, stirring as a gospel church, rousing as a call to arms. Calling upon contemporary songwriting, and informed by the deep roots of gospel, blues, and folk, the trio weaves a tapestry of harmony that is brilliantly fresh and yet familiar.
