The Alliance - June 2012 The Alliance meets Tuesdays from 10:30am to 1:00pm in Gore Hall. Among the many activities, we prepare donated items for sale in our Continuing Bazaar. Why not join us? Bring a bag lunch; homemade iced tea is provided. The Alliance announces the recently elected new slate of officers for the coming year. They are:
Programs for June June 5 Alliance Board Meeting and work on the Continuing Bazaar: The Bazaar receives many donations, which provides us with ample work for any and all comers each week. Tasks include sorting, evaluating, pricing, shelving/racking, and purging as needed. We also distribute appropriate donations directly to charitable organizations that have few resources. June 12 Potluck Luncheon. Everyone is invited to come and bring a dish to share. Ongoing work is done on the Continuing Bazaar each week. The Alliance is an intergenerational, ecologically aware, and politically active group. June 19 Coalition Sandwiches Members will be making and packing about 250 bologna sandwiches to to deliver to The Homeless Coalition, where the Coalition will distribute them to homeless individuals for the following day's lunch. We continue our work on the Bazaar this week as well. June 26 Hospice of the Comforter A bag lunch, provided by the Hospice of the Comforter, as we learn about their services and tour the facilities. Reservations will be necessary as seating is limited. Prior to the lunch and tour we will work on the Continuing Bazaar.
