Recycling At 1U

Our Paper Retriever recycling dumpster has been removed, as the company no longer operates in our area.  What that means to us at 1U is that we now have only 1 recycling dumpster – the one we pay for from the Orlando Waste Paper Company –  which accepts many different materials for recycling (i.e., all paper & cardboard, all glass (rinsed clean), all metal (rinsed clean), and all plastic (rinsed clean)).  Unfortunately, the remaining dumpster will fill-up very quickly if we use it to recycle all the paper products we used to put into the Paper Retriever dumpster.  To help with that situation, we ask the following:

  • Please recycle all paper, glass and metal products at home via your curbside pick-up (check with your city/county to find out what they will accept).  You are welcome to continue to bring to 1U all the paper, plastic and metal products they do not recycle.
  • Please do remember to flatten all cardboard boxes before putting them into the recycling dumpster.  Unflattened boxes take up a lot of space.

And, please remember that all items must fit inside the dumpster.  If the dumpster is full, please do not leave your items on top of the dumpster cover or on the ground near the dumpster. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!  If you have any questions, please write Amy in the church office ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Centennial Celebration Wrap Up

We're looking for any unknown projects!  As our Centennial year comes to a close we would like to have a record of and recognize those who participated in the 100's Project.  Please contact Dayle Steakley if you have not been posted on the 100's Project bulletin board.  Also there are some folks who started their own 100's Project and we would more than love to hear how that has fared for you.  The goal of the 100's Project was to honor our 100 years by aiming for 100 deeds, donations or what-have-you.  This means that there have been no Project failures!  Every effort honors our wonderful congregation.  And that means that we would like to hear about any and every effort.  Towards that end we are still searching for those who read the Death of Josseline, Acts of Faith, or Twelve Steps to A Compassionate Life.  Please sign your name on the clipboard in Gore Hall and you too shall be counted!

Summer Worship

We will be returning to a single Sunday morning worship service for the summer.  Click here for more details
