Worship is at 10:45 AM in our Sanctuary. Below is the list of worship service topics in December. (You may also browse the sermon archives.)
Sunday, Dec. 5 |TBA
This service will be led by the Worship Committee.
Sunday, Dec. 12 |Spirit of Life, Rev. Kathy Schmitz
Spirituality is a tricky word for some Unitarian Universalists. Yet, the word spirit draws itsmeaning from the concept of breath. Breath is not only a sign of life, it is a necessity. This morning, we explore how the concept of spirituality animates the lives of many Unitarian Universalists.
Sunday, Dec. 19 |Return of Light, Rev. Kathy Schmitz
In this season of festivities, we explore the way that the Winter Solstice and the lengthening of days has come to symbolize a return of light to the world in various human cultures.
Share-the-Plate Sunday: A Gift For Music
Sunday, Dec. 26 |A Pause in the Action, Rev. Kathy Schmitz
This day after Christmas is also the first day of the African American celebration of Kwanzaa. Though a cultural, rather than a religious holiday, it has seven principles just like Unitarian Universalism. We will use those principles as a starting place for a series of meditations to give ourselves a time of quiet in the midst of the busy season.
Tuesday,Dec. 21 | Winter Solstice Service
This year the annual Winter Solstice Service will be held in the Sanctuary at 7:00pm with a social hour to follow in the Assembly Room from about 9:00 to10:00pm. The service will be led by members of the Mystic Grove. (For more information, see the Mystic Grove article.)
