Class: Square Foot Garden Basics May 6 Always felt like you had a black thumb? Interested in growing some of your own food? Curious about Square Foot Gardening? Learn the SFG basics on May 6 at 10:15 AM in Adult RE! Square Foot Gardening is the practice of planning small but intensively planted gardens as based on Mel Bartholemew's Book. The practice combines concepts from other organic gardening methods, including a strong focus on compost, closely planted raised beds and biointensive attention to a small, clearly defined area. The method is particularly well-suited for areas with poor soil, beginning gardeners or as adaptive recreation for those with disabilities. After the slides, we will be visiting the church community garden to see how other gardeners have put SFG techniques into effect.
