Food Inc - Fall 2010 Schedule

We continue with our "2008-2012 CSAI:Ethical Eating" with a NEW class for MS, HS, and Young Adults! (Older adults also welcome to attend.) This discussion based class with focus on the film "Food Inc" and will explore how our food decisions affect other people, animals, our food system and the environment.You do not have to be a church member to attend.

Teachers for this class are Cat Rigby, Carie Mendyk, and Heather Neff.  It is held Sundays from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM in Room 9 of the RE Complex.

This class is being offered as an experimental intergenerational class from Green Team and Children's RE.

Please note that MS and HS age students will have to register with Children's RE.  Young Adults and Adults may simply show up for some or all the classes.

 MS and HS students must have parents sign a parent permission slip or attend with their parent.  The Food Inc film is rated R for animal food production scenes.  Dates dealing with these issues in bold below.

  • Sept 26: Unintended Consequences (Today' film clip shows meat packers cleaning meat meant for human consumption with ammonia.)

  • Oct 10: In the Grass (Today's clip has brief scene of chicken being killed, slaughterhouse floor.)
