BOT Highlights- July 2010

Welcome to a new church year! Although this was the first meeting of the new church year, a lot of things were covered. It is our practice to take turns writing up “Board Highlights” for the church website so members can keep up with what’s new.  As always, any member is welcome to attend either BOT Exec meetings or BOT meetings as observers. 

Your 2010-2011 Board of Trustees are

In July the highlights are:

1) Annual review of the “Cull Members List” so membership roster is updated as people move away, change their status, etc. If you need to update your status, or get your 2009-2010 pledge info, please call the front office.  

2) Several Calendar dates were firmed up.  You may want to save the date on your calendars!

Rev. Kathy’s Dates:

  • First Day of Work, Sunday, Aug. 15
  • First Service, Sunday, Aug. 22
  • Potluck luncheon after 1st day in pulpit, Aug. 22
  • Installation, Sunday, Oct. 17, late afternoon/early evening with reception.  Kathy Homblette is chairing the “Settled Minister Installation Ceremony and Celebration” Task Force – please contact her if interested in helping!

Congregational Meetings:

  •  October 3, 2010
  •  January 23, 2011
  •  May 15, 2011

3) Some new chairs and committee name changes –

  •  Approved of Lisa Ruckman’s appointment to the Leadership Development Committee.
  •  Approved of Robb Haskins’s appointment to chair the Music Committee.
  •  Approved that “Social Justice Coordinating Committee” is replacing the old Social Justice Committee. Dan Homblette is Chair.

4) BOT approves Audio Team request for new mics for Gore Hall and Sanctuary. BOT also requested that Audio Team prepare an inventory of our equipment and draft a long term plan for how we should best update aging equipment for the January 2011 BOT meeting. Please contact Paul Burdette if you’d like to help with the inventory.
