Green Team - Jul 2010

Living the 7th: Green Team in July

Remember that we are still going to collect food, shopping bags, used ink cartridges, and more over the summer. The collection bins are behind the striped curtains in the entrance area of the men's room in Gore Hall.

June 17: Transition Orlando hosted by Green Team. 5:00pm in Gore Hall. Did you miss it last month? Catch Transition Orlando again this month as the new chapter organizes! To learn more about Transition Towns see http://transitionus.org/

July 17: Earth Cinema Nite: Potluck at 6:00pm with this month's selections at 7:00pm in the Sharon Lee Hiett Library. Our drop-in movie class is casual and easy going - bring a pal! This month we screen:

A Growing Season

Following Ontario farmer John Gorzo, Jr., from the spring planting through the fall harvest, this stark, intimate film strips away our bucolic fantasies and reveals how incredibly hard farmers work to produce the food we eat. Good Stewards

Farmers alone cannot make our food system thrive-it's up to all of us. That is the message of this enlightening and encouraging film. The good stewardship efforts being made by farmers, consumers, and policy makers in the rapidly growing county of Ventura, California, will inspire any community interested in preserving agricultural resources.

All of July: Green Adult RE. 9:30am. Join us for a series of films in the Sharon Lee Hiett Library! We will be watching "The Good Food" Film Festival selection: 16 different film shorts in four Sundays!
