WHAT: During the fall season, as the temperature cools, the newly harvested plants die, and the nights grow longer, people in many cultures take time to honor their ancestors. Some even believe that during this waning of the year, the veil that separates our world from world of the spirits thins, allowing our ancestors to visit us. To welcome the ancestors and solicit their good will, some tend gravesites, create ancestor altars, or hold ancestor feasts.

First Unitarian is holding an Ancestor’s Feast to remember! Come prepared to boast and toast, sing, dance, and honor your ancestors just as you are or in costume! 

WHEN & WHERE: October 11, 2008 at 6 PM in Gore Hall 

PLEASE BRING: 

• A photo or memento of your ancestor(s) that you wish to honor. It can be a simple or elaborate as you like. Please label it with your name.
• A side dish or dessert that you ancestor enjoyed, also labeled with name of dish. (We provide drinks and non-vegetarian and vegetarian entrees)

COST:  FREE!  Cash donations for groceries or actual dry/canned foods welcome to benefit Semoran Food Pantry.
