Committee Chairs Council The Committee Chairs Council is made up of all the chairs from all the various groups at First Unitarian. That’s more than 30 groups! The President-Elect is usually the “Chair of Chairs” and sets the agenda. The Council usually meets in the Assembly room on the fourth Tuesday of the month. It is primarily responsible for coordinating across programs, activities, room use, and multi-group collaborations throughout the busy church year. It also assists the Board of Trustees when called upon and finds a church sponsor for special projects suggested by church members. (Ex: If a church member wanted to offer a new class for adults at the church, then Adult RE would be the likely sponsor. If a church member wanted to organize a benefit concert for a worthy cause, then the Music Committee would be the likely sponsor.) Council members also provide updates to the congregation from the committees at congregational meetings, and in the annual report at the end of the year.
