UUA Trustee Tidbits - Jan 2009 I hope you experienced a joyful holiday season and are ready for a new year. In December I wrote about Congregation-Based Community Organizing (CBCO) and committed to continuing with information about this valuable organization in January. CBCO has the capacity to change UUism by deepening congregational involvement in social justice in a way that enables us to really understand and work for social change in community with others. Also CBCO has the unique ability to increase congregations become multicultural and racially diverse, and can develop and train leaders whose skills can enrich congregational life. |

UUA Trustee Tidbits - Dec 2008 At the UUA Board of Trustees meeting in October, we had the opportunity to learn from representatives of the Congregation-Based Community Organizing (CBCO) organization. I was impressed by their purpose, scope, work, and dedication to social justice organizing in congregational communities. In the report to the District following the BOT, I indicated I would devote one or two columns to this excellent organization. This is the first of two efforts to let you know the importance of this organization and how your congregation might benefit from their expertise.

UUA Trustee Tidbits If we were living in any other locale we might be able to feel the cool, crisp fall weather. Not so, Floridians, but nonetheless here’s hoping your congregation is in full swing for the year. As this is being written I am preparing to go to Boston for the October UUA Trustee meeting.
